Quotes that reflect Bryonness (yes, it goes to 11)

Since the advent of the Ironshef bringing everything up a noch here's my top quotes that exude Bryonness; & yes this one goes to eleven. These are not in any particular order:

1. "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." - Hunter S. Thompson

This guy was the king of weird. The only other being who's ingested as many foreign substances is Keith Richards. Thompson was a writer, Hell's Angel, and icon of American literature among other things. He was Gonzo before there was a Muppet.

2. "An alcoholic is someone you don't like who drinks as much as you do." - Dylan Thomas

The poet from whom Bob Dylan took the name. I'm always raging against the dying of the light and besides the quote says it all.

3. "Just because it's happening to you doesn't make it important." - Rolf Haugan

A wonderful friend of my father's that would tell it like it was.

4. "Although prepared for martyrdom, I preferred that it be postponed." - Sir Winston Churchill

He was one of the truest "mans"  man to have ever lived. Gruff, tough, real, & a great wise ass.

5. "It's never just a game when you're winning." - George Carlin

From the Bronx, to stand-up, Grammy Awards, need I say more?

6. "I think that somehow, we learn who we really are and then live with that decision." - Eleanor Roosevelt

She was one of the toughest women to have ever lived. When people talk about there being a greater woman behind every great man; Eleanor is where the bar is set.

7. "Dance like it hurts, love like you need money, work when people are watching." - Scott Adams

His satire caused the movement for shows like The Office so show some respect (if the name doesn't ring a bell Dilbert).

8. "Success is getting what you want, happiness is wanting what you get." - Bertrand Russell

He's considered one of the founders of analytic philosophy. His 3 passions: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind.

9. "We don't own our reputation, we just own our actions." - Michael Dell

When you become the youngest CEO to have your company in Fortune's top 500 corporations; people take notice and start watching, listening, and learning.

10. "Change before you have to." - Jack Welch

...and by the way that's Dr. Welch to you!

11. "It builds character." - my Father

"It" can mean anything and generally meant something I didn't want to do. This has stuck with me and let me tell you at this point in my life I'm freaking bursting with character!

If you have some quotes send them my way. I'd love to hear from you.
